The Sanibel Arms Vacation Guide
Summer In Sanibel: 3 Can't-Miss Events On The Island
Although 78% of executives feel that vacations are a necessary means of preventing burnout, that doesn't mean that you have to sit around and do nothing when you stay at our Sanibel Island vacation rentals. There's so much to see and do when you're here, but we've picked just three of our favorite events that you'll need to check out once you've settled in to your rental condos.
College Bound Cooking Class
If you're vacationing with your teen or you're a young person who simply wants to improve your skills in the kitchen, this course might be the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Put on by the Culinary Education Center of Sanibel, this course is geared towards teaching incoming freshmen to eat well on a budget. The course will cover the fundamentals of the kitchen as well as quick and healthy dishes that don't sacrifice on wow factor. A sample menu provided by CECOS lists Thai Chicken Dragon Bowls, Vegetable Curry, Falafel Fritters, and Orange and Chocolate Tartlets. To sign up for this $35 course on Friday, July 21, or for more information, contact the Sanibel Community House.
Amernet String Quartet
Looking for a bit of culture during your stay at our Sanibel Island vacation rentals this August? Then you'll want to check out the Amernet String Quartet when they perform at Shell Point Retirement Community. As the ensemble-in-residence at the Florida International University in Miami, this phenomenal group has been lauded for their "intelligence" and "immensely satisfying" performing by the New York Times. The quartet will perform on the evening of August 29 in a chamber setting, allowing audience members to mingle during the concert. Refreshments will be available afterward. To reserve your $20 ticket, visit the Shell Point website.
Second Saturdays On Sanibel
If you're a cyclist and are looking for something fun and different to do, why not join in a Second Saturdays on Sanibel event? It's a nighttime, hour-long bike ride that's held every second Saturday of the month. Whether you bring along your own bike or rent one on the island, you can enjoy this casual and safe ride at a relaxed pace. Be sure to decorate your bike with colorful lights and wear reflective clothing! Riders of all ages and skill levels will agree that this event will be "lit."
No matter whether you decide to spend your vacation on the sandy beach or want to try something a bit more unconventional, we know you'll never be bored when you stay at our Sanibel Island vacation rentals. To find out more or to make your reservation, get in touch with Sanibel Arms today!
